To Be or Not To Be......

There is a new phenomenon on Broadway (not so much in the West End) where the audience would applaud upon the stage entrance of an Actor/Actress they enjoy and respect. I've experienced it and was also carried away in the frenzy: with Natasha Richardson in A Streetcar Named Desire, Cherry Jones in Doubt, Christine Ebersole and Mary Louis Wilson in Grey Gardens, and hey even with the Green Witch on Broadway (Idina Menzel and Julia Murney).
