Cutthroat business

Actor Daniel Hoevels sliced his own throat during his character's suicide scene from Friedrich Schiller's play Mary Stuart, about Mary Queen of Scots. He used what he thought was a stage-prop knife. The incident occurred in Vienna's Burg Theater this past weekend. Austrian police are investigating if it was an accident or a genuine attempt on his life.

Mr. Hoevels is doing fine, and in true 'the show must go on' fashion, returned the following night.
