Harold Pinter, Nobel-prize winning playwright, was once quoted as saying "I could be a bit of a pain in the arse. Since I've come out of my cancer, I must say I intend to be even more of a pain in the arse." He certainly used his voice and influence to speak out against US foreign policy, the Iraq war, still-President Bush and former Prime Minister Tony Blair. Unfortunately, he lost his battle with cancer at age 78 on Christmas Eve. A Philippine production of The Birthday Party was the very first play I ever saw. God rest your soul.
