Sept 26, 2009, Tropical Storm Ondoy (international name: Ketsana) unleashed it's fury in the Philippines dumping a month's worth of rain in only 6 hours. Hurricane Katrina dumped 250 mm of rain, Tropical Storm Ondoy......425 mm of rain, submerging 80 % of Manila underwater. As of Sept 29, there were 149 confirmed deaths and 246,000 displaced according to Unicef. Casualties continue to rise. Thankfully, here at Stage-notes, our families and friends are all safe but help is still badly needed.
