Waitress

I went to see "Waitress" this past weekend. It is an endearing, fun and charming little film. It is unfortunate that Adrienne Shelly, the movie's writer/director and supporting actor, is no longer around to make movies like this. She was murdered in November 2006 in the West Village by a man living in the apartment below her after she complained about the noise. She was found hanging from the shower rod; he made it look like a suicide. Tragic. Keri Russell's character, Jenna, woke up in time to realize that she deserved a better life. Her creator also deserved much, much more.
